The Ultimate Gluten-Free Chip List

One of the challenges that most people face when going gluten-free is finding quick, tasty and safe snacks. That is why today we are sharing the ultimate gluten-free chip list.

You might be thinking potato chips can’t contain gluten? Yes, they can. Gluten can be present in the flavourings used to season the chips, and even in some chips that are a composition rather than sliced potatoes- like Pringles.

Our goal is to help us all live our collective best gluten-free life, which can sometimes mean sharing guides that help us navigate prepared products to find which ones are safe to enjoy. We have created and shared the ultimate guide to gluten-free chocolate, the ultimate guide to gluten-free candy, the ultimate guide to gluten-free condiments, and the 15 steps to living gluten-free. We continue adding to these guides with the ultimate gluten-free chip list. Don’t forget to check out our easy gluten-free snacks on-the-go ideas for other snack options.

Even though we have vetted the products in our guides, we still recommend that you read the labels, because manufacturing formulations can change between countries or factories. Also, manufacturing processing can change over time, which could impact cross-contamination, this would be reflected on the label. Check out how to read labels and other practices to avoid gluten in our Ultimate Gluten-Free Guide for Beginners.

DISCLAIMER: Most of the products on this list are manufactured in facilities, or on equipment that is also used to manufacture products which contain gluten. Please be sure to determine if it is safe for your own personal consumption. Also, products that are labelled gluten-free, are clearly indicated on the list. Other products simply do not contain gluten in the ingredients but are not labelled gluten-free.

Utz used to be my favorite but I need to avoid corn as well as gluten and Utz has decided to use different oils including corn oil. And not all bags are marked correctly.

Hi Clare,
That is a great point- you should always read the packaging and if you have concerns contact the manufacturer. I’m sorry about your issue with your favourite chips.
Have you found a brand you like now?
Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Cheers,
Elyse
