Seasonal snacks are something that those of us living a gluten-free lifestyle often miss out on. Many people mock how everything turns to pumpkin flavoured by the start of fall (or the end of August), but that isn’t true with gluten-free foods. So when I found gluten-free pumpkin pie sandwich cookies, I had to try them. I had no idea what they would taste like but they had me at gluten-free pumpkin pie.
I had never heard of the brand, Goodie Girl before. As it is not a well-known brand, I thought I would share my Goodie Girl Gluten-Free Pumpkin Pie Sandwich Cookies review to dispel any hesitation you may have in trying them if you see them. Not only are these cookies gluten-free, but they are also vegan, kosher, peanut-free, have no high-fructose corn syrup, and have rightfully earned our GFF Seal of Approval!

First off, the packaging…
Reading labels is a critical step when following a gluten-free diet, as you have to confirm there are no hidden, or alternate sources of gluten in the ingredients. The packaging for Goodie Girl Pumpkin Pie Sandwich Cookies clearly identifies the product as gluten-free and the ingredients are easy to find too.
This is what the company says about how they produce their certified gluten-free cookies “Our cookies are made in a facility that processes gluten. Our cookies are made on a fully sterilized line and never used for gluten-containing products during the duration of our allotted production run. We consistently random test our cookies, and they test below 10 ppm.” As we reported in our Reading Food Labels: “May Contain” Vs. “Contains” post, the industry standard for gluten-free is 20ppm (parts per million).
Goodie Girl Gluten-Free Pumpkin Pie Sandwich Cookies Review: Look and Mouth Feel – Scored 20/20
These cookies exceeded the expectations I had about them. They are thick and they are an actual industry standard size cookie, as opposed to some gluten-free cookies that are either very thin and/or quite small. The texture of the cookies is excellent, as they are crisp and short, with a creamy pumpkin filling. There is no compromise with these cookies in this section.
Goodie Girl Gluten-Free Pumpkin Pie Sandwich Cookies Review: Taste – Scored 19/20
These cookies have an excellent taste. They have a well-balanced pumpkin pie flavour. The only negative I found is a very slight – but not unpleasant – aftertaste. It’s an aftertaste I find common with vegan products but that could be just me. The pumpkin pie flavor, however, really helps to cut that aftertaste. In other similar gluten-free sandwich cookies, the aftertaste is very pronounced and sometimes unpleasant. This is not the case here. It is hard to stop eating these cookies. They are deliciously habit-forming.
Overall, the cookie and the filling blend together in perfect harmony. It’s a slightly vanilla-tasting cookie with warm pumpkin pie filling. Based on taste, I would definitively buy these again, whenever I come across them. They are a seasonal delight.
Goodie Girl Gluten-Free Pumpkin Pie Sandwich Cookies Review: Misc. – 7/10
These cookies, while expensive, are a good value. Hear me out. They are an excellent size package for gluten-free cookies. Other gluten-free sandwich cookies come in smaller boxes and the price is the same as these cookies, so the value is better on the Goodie Girl box. I would recommend this seasonal treat.

If you haven’t tried Goodie Girl Gluten-Free Pumpkin Pie Sandwich Cookies, I highly recommend that you do. Even though these cookies may be hard to find in some areas, if you can find them, give them a try. These cookies give you the perfect taste of fall in one sweet treat. They are well worth the splurge even when living gluten-free on a budget.
