Wings are a game-day staple and a treat any time. With Super Bowl coming up, you might be looking for a crowd-pleaser of a wing recipe. That is why we are sharing this ultimate crunchy baked gluten free chicken wing recipe.

This recipe for the ultimate crunchy baked gluten free chicken wing recipe gives you all the crunch and flavour you love without gluten or having to deep fry the chicken wings. Crunchy wings without needing an air fryer? Sign me up.

Know that the ultimate crunchy baked gluten-free chicken wing recipe can easily be multiplied to feed a crowd, or cut down to make a smaller serving. This recipe is based on 8 wings per person for a main course. So, this will feed 4 people for a main, or 6-8 as a side.

The Ultimate Crunchy Baked Gluten Free Chicken Wing Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 32 Wings (roughly 2 lbs)
  • 6 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp pepper

Directions:

Tip: If your wings do not come already silt; cut them in half and remove the tip before continuing on in the recipe.
Tip: Place the wing tips (if you have them) in a Ziploc freezer bag and keep them in the freezer, until you are making chicken soup. Having extra bones and tips when you made soup gives you a richer broth- check out our recipe for gluten free Italian wedding soup.
Tip: The foil makes for an easier clean up and the parchment paper will help the wings not stick to the pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
  • Add in half the wings and toss to coat them well, throughout. Shake off excess cornstarch.
  • Place wings in an even layer on the rimmed baking sheet.
  • Toss the remaining wings in the cornstarch mixture.
  • Place the rest of the wings on the baking sheet.
  • Bake the wings for 25 minutes in the oven.
  • Remove the wings from the oven and carefully flip them over.
  • Bake the wings for an additional 25 minutes.
Tip: Rotate the pan when placing it in the oven, so that the wings can cook evenly.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and flip the wings back over again.
  • Increase the heat of the oven to 400° F.
  • Once the oven preheats, bake for 7 additional minutes.
  • The wings should be brown on both sides and quite crispy.
  • Serve with your favourite gluten free wing sauce.
