Gluten-Free Foodee Update

by Elyse the Gluten-Free Foodee

Hello and happy 2023 to my Gluten-Free Foodee Community,

You may have noticed that I haven’t been posting with my usual frequency and I thought I should let you in on what’s been going on in my life.

The last half of 2022 was very difficult for me and my family. My aunt, whom I adored, and was very close to, passed away in September. This was a huge loss, and I tried my best to keep focused on work and bringing you my usual content.

In December, my beloved father passed away, very suddenly. He had been ill in November and I continued to keep the blog up from his hospital room. When he was released and back home, I was very much looking forward to not only preparing for the holidays for my family, but also for the blog. However, those plans sadly changed with his passing. I had to take some time to take care of not only myself, but my mom, and to also make all of the funeral arrangements.

I’m trying to get back into the rhythm of life and work, but it has proved to be very difficult, after two unforeseen and devastating losses.

Those who are members of our Gluten-Free Foodees Facebook Group knew about my dad’s passing, and they encouraged me to take the time that I needed.

I just wanted you all to know what had been going on in my life, and why there was a break in the usual posting schedule.

I love the community that we have built here, and I am committed to maintaining it and sharing recipes, tips, reviews, and more so that we can all live our best gluten-free lives.

I’m wishing you all a very healthy and happy year ahead.

Thank you,
The Gluten-Free Foodee
