The Best Gluten-Free Pork Rub Recipe
Ingredients:
- 6-9 pieces of boneless center-cut pork chops (or any pork chop)
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp granulated onion and garlic
- 1/2 tsp granulated garlic
- 1/3 tsp ground dry mustard
Directions:
- Add the salt, granulated onion, pepper, granulated garlic, and ground dry mustard to a bowl or a container- and mix well.
- Remove the pork from the package.
- Trim any excess fat – remember to keep some, so that the chops stay moist on the grill.
- Pat the pork dry with a paper towel.
- Sprinkle both sides of the pork evenly with a thin layer of the spice rub.
Tip: If cooking fewer than 6-9 pork chops, keep one hand clean (not having touched the pork) to put the rub on with, or reserve some of the rub for later use. `If your hand does touch the pork and then the rub, you will have to throw away any leftover rub, due to cross-contamination.
- Once your grill is hot, oil the grill and cook to the desired temperature of 145F degrees for pork chops.
Chef’s Notes:
- I used boneless center-cut pork chops, but you can use any cut of pork chop
- This rub works well with back ribs as well. For Ribs to be tender they can be anywhere from 145F- 195F degrees.
- Also, you can multiply this rub recipe to accommodate larger amounts of pork. Sometimes I like to mix a large batch of this, and keep it in an airtight container, or mason jar, and just pour out what I need, for a specific meal.
- This recipe will produce restaurant-quality BBQ pork at home. Even if you aren’t grilling outdoors, you can cook your pork on an indoor grill pan, griddle, cast iron pan, or frying pan. No matter the method you choose, the end result will be very flavourful and juicy.
You can pair this best gluten-free BBQ Pork rub with great gluten-free barbecue side dishes, like grilled onions and potatoes, or grilled asparagus and grilled stone fruit.
Happy Grilling!
